What was a dream for the members of the Club Nautico San Isidro in Buenos Aires is now becoming truth: the Club will celebrate its just one hundred years in 2010 with the launching of the Club new sail training yacht, the Nautico II to replace the old one.

This new shallow draft 18.50 m (60’) GRP is under construction and would be capable of sailing the shallow waters of the Rio de la Plata and to visit other harbours in the extended Argentinean Atlantic shores.

She is designed by Frers as a contribution to the Club and she is expected to be fast and safe and a good learning platform for the junior members of the Club, making their first offshore experiences.

It is likely other yacht clubs would soon build sisterships to the Nautico II, a modern hull built in composite material and with a classic appearance to match the spirit of tradition and seamanship.
